2017 has been quite the year! I decided to go through and pick one picture from each month to review the year.
It’s crazy to think that on January 10th, baby B was all of 1.7 centimeters tall. Talk about the miracle of life!
I only took two pictures in February, which may be a record low for me for many years. I was just struggling so much to come to terms with all of the changes happening in my life.
This picture is of my dad’s new house while it was under construction. He did so many cool things to make it super energy-efficient that I am in awe. Plus, it has turned out to be super gorgeous.
My big accomplishment in March was moving to Albuquerque. Well, starting to move to Albuquerque anyway.
April involved a lot of settling into our new place. I really tried to start getting out around town. This picture is from a hike in the Sandia mountains. (It was a hike that triggered awful hip and low back pain for weeks during my pregnancy. Can I mention how glad I am to not still be pregnant?)
Aww… the beauty of late spring turning into early summer! This picture is from our neighborhood park, a place I’ve visited at least a few times a week since moving to Albuquerque.
June included a trip up to Mesa Verde National Park. This may be one of my favorite pictures of me from when I was pregnant.
This picture is of my ‘old’ house. It’s probably not a very exciting picture to most people, but to me, it conjures up all sorts of feelings of ‘home’. This was where I lived for about a decade after all. I’m a sentimental type of person. I miss this place. And, as is all too common, it’s never looked better than when I fixed it up after moving out!
August 2017 has to have been the most pivotal month of my life. This is one of my favorite pictures of baby B.
Me, as a mom. (Perhaps my favorite post from this year was a few thoughts on being a mom.)
Hiking in the Wichita National Wilderness in Oklahoma.
The digger!! What more can I say?
Remember that little guy that was 1.7 centimeters in January?
All in all, I’d say it’s been an amazing year. I’m excited to see what 2018 brings. And I’m thinking it would be cool to do posts like this for other past years. I find it so interesting to look back at how my life has developed over the last several years.
